Win when?

Super bummed in NC seeks ride to SF
I'm kind of annoying and can't give you gas money, but at least you don't have to be reminded of what a loser with no friends you are driving alone, and I won't be sitting in the airport all day. Win-win!

I almost forgot!

I reviewed the new-ish Gang Gang Dance album in the Bust mag that's on stands now.

GANG GANG DANCE- Saint Dymphna

Historically speaking Saint Dymphna was the beautiful daughter of the Irish chief Damon who was tragically beheaded by her dad when she refused to commit him her hand after her mother’s passing. Her burial place is known to cure mental illness. Saint Dymphna is also the newest release by the experimentalist Brooklyn-based foursome Gang Gang Dance, who sounds like they could benefit from a visit to the Saint’s grave with the schizophrenic arrangements on this new work. We start in a psychedelic kaleidoscope of percussion and Asian inspired synths (Bebey), jump to techno blips (So aptly named House Jam), and then find that most surprisingly Gang Gang goes hip-hop with Brit MC Tinchy Stryder. One thing is constant: Lizzi Bougatsos continues to channel Kate Bush’s moans, whispers, and wails, but sometimes mixes in some M.I.A-like grunts. Most refreshingly, GGD seem to have climbed out of the cardboard box that they’d been recording in on their past records, and into a real recording studio as Saint Dymphna is crystal clear and headphone ready.

FUN FACTS:
-I saw GGD perform at the Social Registry's CMJ showcase at Santos Partyhouse, and it was truly an electrifying performance. PIX (not by me.)
-Much of this record was recorded at Vacation Island Studios in Bushwick, which I can highly recommend as a great place to record.

THE FUTURE!

This is the uniform at my office now. Sort of headache inducing, but hey, FASHION FIRST!
